Auditions
Auditions for the 2023-2024 team have concluded.
Please follow this season's team and reach out to the coaching staff if you have questions or are interested in auditioning next season.

Auditions are typically held in the spring (April/May).
Register For Auditions
Each student must register for auditions by completing the online google form before the first day of auditions (April 25th). Please see the link below:
AUDITION INFO:
Auditions: April 25th, 26th, & 27th (6:00-9:00 PM)
Location: Fishers High School (Aux Gym 2/Main Gym)

Auditions are CLOSED to parents/public
​
Attire: BLACK athletic clothing/dancewear
Fitted black top (tank top, t-shirt, longline sports bra)
High-waisted spandex dance shorts/bike shorts, running shorts, or leggings
Jazz shoes, turners, any dance shoes, and/or sneakers (any color shoes)
Hair worn up & bring a water bottle!
Auditions will be used to evaluate dancers on their technical skills, performance ability, and work ethic.

The Fishers Dance Team coaching staff, tryout judges, and/or graduating seniors will help run tryouts and judges will select the team based off of scoring technique and choreography.
​
Dancers must re-audition each year. Spots on the team are not guaranteed because of a dancer's grade level or because the dancer was on the team the previous year. It is possible to be demoted or not asked back to the team if skills are not up to par with the rest of the team or due to negative performance, behavior, attendance, and/or work ethic during the previous year.

Captains may or may not be selected each season by the coaching staff. Captains will be selected during the audition process and announced with the team.

The Fishers Dance Team roster will be announced via email and on the team Facebook and Instagram pages at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 28th.
Recommended Skills:
The following are suggested skills for the team:
​
Double/triple turn
Turns in second (4 or more)
Leaps (right, left, center, capezio, flying disc, etc.)
Kicks
Toe touch
Pom technique (strong/sharp arm movements)
Right, left, center splits
Hip hop tricks: head spring and/or kip up
Foundational technique: straight knees, pointed toes, turn out
Special skills: leg holds/extensions, hip hop tricks, acro/tumbling (aerials, front/back walkovers)
Ability to pick up and remember choreography
Confident performance quality
Positive attitude & ability to apply feedback
