Frequently Asked Questions
How many dancers are on the team?
We do not have a specific number of spots available for the team each season. We take as many qualified dancers as possible! This year we have 13Â dancers on our team but hope to continue to grow!
What styles of dance does the team do?
Our team performs and competes in a variety of styles including Pom, jazz, and hip-hop. Each season our team routine styles are selected based on the team’s strengths and skill level. This year our team is competing in Pom and hip hop!
What dance experience do I need to audition or make the team?
We welcome anyone and everyone to audition for our team! We have dancers with a variety of dance, cheer, gymnastics, and/or performance experience on our current team. We will hold a call out meeting and open practices prior to our formal auditions in the spring where students can learn about the specific technical skills we will be looking for at auditions.
I am thinking about auditioning for the team next season… What should I do?
If you are interested in our program, reach out to our coaches regarding any questions you may have. We will have a call out meeting and open practices in the spring (March/April) to learn more about our team! Auditions are typically held mid/late April. Information about these dates will be shared in the school announcements and on our team's social media.
How much does the team cost?
Our team is considered a club and therefore is self-funded. Dancers pay throughout the first half of the season for team wear, choreography, costumes, competition fees, training, transportation, etc. Although the season’s cost can be expensive, many of the costs can be reduced through sponsorships and various fundraising.
Can I still dance at my studio or participate in other activities/sports?
Many dancers continue to dance at their dance studios in some capacity when joining our team. With our practice and performance schedule, it is often difficult to participate in multiple competitive programs/sports. As long as dancers do not have conflicts with practices/performances, other involvement in school activists is encouraged!
How often does the team practice?
Our Varsity team typically practices 2 days per week for 3 hours. Additional days are required for scheduled performances/competitions/team events.
Will there be a Varsity and JV team?
This season we have 1 Varsity level team with 13 members. We are actively continuing to grow our program each season with additional qualified dancers! The addition of a JV team will be dependent on the turnout at auditions each season. If 1 team is selected, it  will be a Varsity level team.
Send our Coach a message if you have additional questions about our team!
